This Labor Day weekend, I headed to Dallas to celebrate the nuptials of the beautiful bride and my summer MMF pal Natalie Jenkins and the groom Mike Sorrell. I had the honor of sitting next to the former mayor of Dallas & US Trade Representative Ron Kirk and his wife Matrice during the ceremony. I later discovered that Matrice was responsible for introducing the couple. The ceremony took place at the Friendship West Baptist Church and the reception at the gorgeous Women's Museum. I was also able to reconnect with GMF Board Member Paul Stafford, who I met at the DC Forum in May, and a friend from college who I had not seen in a decade. After the celebration and a few happy hours at the boutique Magnolia Hotel located downtown, I left the Big D thankful for making new friends, reconnecting with other friends, and participating in festivities for a wonderful couple.
