Drat!…….?
So my week started off shaky…
- My man began to lose his momentum, though he’s still up by over 100 delegates. I hope it doesn’t come down to the superdelegates… cuz ’twill be tough against the Clinton machine.
- A 9-car pileup on the 101 and another accident involving a big rig on the 405 doubled my commute time to work one day last week. Yes - ladies and gents - it’s true: 25 miles in 2.5 hours. Ugh.
- On an Idol note, the absolutely fabulous Danny Noriega got kicked off last week. I admit that his live performances were hardly stellar, but still… What a bummer. Even worse, my favorite David Archuleta’s latest performance was his worst yet. Sigh.
- On a health note, I’m feeling less energized than normal. But nothing that a few nights in bed with a book, my cat, and a cup of tea won’t fix.
- Though I would recommend the latest novel for our book club, The Road by Cormac McCarthy, to others, it hardly lifted my spirits.
Then I realized all of my annoyances were extremely minor in the grand scheme of things:
- Aila is finally starting recovery after over 2 months of scariness, thanks to all your thoughts & prayers. I won’t go into it, but… what a relief.
- I’ve decided to take an alternate route to work which, though windier and lengthier, has more predictable traffic. Plus, I remind myself daily that work is going extremely well, and besides, working on the West side has allowed me to reconnect with friends who I lost touch with after moving to the SF Valley.
- I heard about another non-profit on 60 minutes, Remote Area Medical, that operates on a shoestring budget yet impacts the lives of thousands of people by providing free healthcare to the needy and underinsured.
- A haunting moment from the past started to rear its ugly head, but as it turns out, I now have a renewed faith in the goodness of people. Randy Pausch was right…
Life is…
Good.
Actually, it’s pretty Amazing.
