Day 4 of the Master Cleanse

For the past 4 days, my diet has consisted of:

  • Herbal laxative tea first thing in the morning and last thing before I go to bed;
  • Several glasses of water a day;
  • 6-12 glasses of the following mixture: 1/2 tsp of fresh squeezed lemon juice; a few dashes of cayenne pepper; 2-3 tbsp Grade B maple syrup; purified water.

There’s a saltwater rinse you’re supposed to drink instead of the tea in the morning that’s a natural colon cleanser, but I was not prepared to make the frequent bathroom stops that happen after the rinse at work.

Since my Aussie trip is coming up, I’m going to break the fast on Monday, the 6th day, by eating raw fruits and drinking fresh orange juice. I’ll do the full 10-days in the fall sometime.

I feel better than I have in a few weeks, but I am STARVING. The 5 boxes of Girl Scout cookies I purchased that are sitting in my cupboards do not help.

Surprisingly, I have a lot of energy….

I’ll spare you the details of the toxin elimination process… but let me tell you, it ain’t pretty or pleasant.

Nevertheless, I’m hoping this will be a new, healthy start for me.

That is, before I “re-tox” in Aussie-land! Muahahahahaha….
