I’ve been MIA for awhile. When I haven’t been working, I’ve been spending my weekends not being at home… often times dancing & drinking the night away to avoid facing my problems.

For those of you who have wondered about the launch at work, it didn’t go as well as planned, & we’re still suffering the consequences, many late nights later. Ah well, such is life. I really can’t complain, things could always be worse.

Last weekend, I trekked down to Pacific Beach, San Diego to celebrate Halloween & J$’s belated 30th birthday.

We started off the weekend with a much-needed Swedish massage. After a few hours of relaxation & catch-up time, we got ready…

J$ was an adorable candy corn & I was dubbed “Slutty Robin”. We took a cab to the Gas Lamp district with a Dirty Martini, Phantom, Tenacious D, & an old hag. After the pre-party at a nice pad downtown w/J$’s PB crew, we walked over to the Red Sea Lounge for some bumpin’ house music. The partying continued at J$’s pals’ condo… by then everyone was tanked.

J&J quality time is always a blast, & I so needed the time away. Even though traffic on the drive home was torture, the trip was more than worth it.

The Halloween festivities didn’t end after that weekend. It continued at work, a house party, & the WeHo parade. I took all the opportunities I could to celebrate my favorite holiday of the year.

After another chaotic work week, I de-stressed by participating in an AWBW BeARTrageous workshop at the Venice studio.

I created my “Me Doll”, who I named Pepper:

As you move through the World’s melody
Love more wildly yet
Move more slowly
It’s all presented before you to consume
So enjoy without regret
And add to the melody your own tune

I’m going to frame her & hang her up in my place to remind me to live life to the fullest… no matter what it throws at me.

Sometimes running away for a bit is good for the soul. Yesterday, it was good to face my problems & realize that I need to focus more on healing myself within, instead of the self-destructive habits I often turn to.

I’m determined to spend more time one-on-one w/good friends, start going back to yoga & spend more time making my condo my home.
