Hiding out? Sort of, I guess

People ask me what I’ve been up to these days. It’s strange how my response is usually “not much“…

Weird how each day seems to be a new battle, time ticks sloooowly, yet I can’t believe the past 2 months have zipped by:

… 3 friends passed away. RIP, Vicki, Ed, & Auntie Pam. My heart goes out to their loved ones.
… I went up to the Bay area to celebrate Jaden’s first birthday.
… One of my best Chitown pals got married! It was my first time as a groomswoman.
… My brother celebrated his - ahem - 21st birthday. Happy Birthday Beyonc-Jay!
… I became the APAF Social Events Committee Co-Chair for the SoCal Hub. I’m already on the Philanthropy Committee for the Women’s Network, but I think my involvement with APAF has already risen to a different level.
… I saw the best movie of the year, Little Miss Sunshine. Funny, sad… quite real & inspiring.
… Meggy went to his first high school dance & has a new girlfriend. My godson is growing up way too quickly.

Upcoming Happenings:
***October is Breast Cancer & Domestic Violence Awareness Month***
… SAP Go Live is on Monday. Cutover for my apps starts the next day. I’m holding my breath until it’s over. Er, I mean, I’m going to breathe deeply…
… My furniture will (hopefully!) arrive. I miss having a couch… and eating off a TV tray in my bedroom is starting to get old. I still have to finish unpacking my office. I’ll get there. Someday. Hopefully soon.
… My fave holiday of the year - Halloween! I’ll be celebrating with one of my fave gal pals J$ in PB, San Diego.
…. Lynn’s, Gabby’s, Meggy’s & Katleya’s birthdays.
… My birthday trip - NYC, baby!
… The holiday frenzy. Ugh.  Oh well.  My dad is coming to visit for Christmas from the Motherland, so it will be nice to spend some quality holiday time with him & the rest of the fam.
… Helping a special friend take care of his tree.

Perhaps I’ve been up to more than “not much.” I’m just relieved that right here, right now, I’m at a place where I’m… OK.

am i the only one who comments? anyway, we ended up raising $150…then the firm matched so we raised $300 for the EIF’s Lee National Denim Day. so beautiful down here too….in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, the Palmer House Hilton changed its lightbulbs to pink and so did the Sears Tower and John Hancock Building. Also on the diamond shaped building on the northwest corner of randolph and michigan, the put the words “think pink”…go chicago for supporting breast cancer research/awareness….
