The Holiday Frenzy Continues…

The Server was *finally* brought back up yesterday afternoon. Darn it, I know that Dev Servers aren’t the highest priority to our Web Ops team when there are Production Servers that are down, but aren’t Dev Servers like Production Servers to Developers?

So I stressed out big time on Tuesday, but since we had another work holiday party yesterday, I chilled out & enjoyed more “time off.”

I got the best Secret Santa gift at our holiday party! A Page A Day Cat Calendar and the Björk Medulla Music Video DVD.

(No, my Secret Santa didn’t know me all that well. We had to send our Coordinator our top 3 picks for gifts under $25, so when I wasn’t shocked when I opened my gift. But still… for some reason it excited me!)

Before going to another “Wine in WeHo Party” hosted by my favorite Ms. Tammy, I picked up the Björk’s new album, the Drawing Restraint 9 Soundtrack at Virgin. I enjoyed listening to the soundtrack but am anxious to see the film to fully understand her newest project. Unfortunately, I have no idea when the film will be released in the U.S. It premiered in Japan in July and I can’t seem to find any info online about its U.S. release date. Hopefully soon.

After the Wine Party, G. & I went home to watch the DVD. OK, so maybe I sorta dragged G. from the party because I was anxious to watch the videos.

Whatever.

The videos ROCKED. “Where is the Line” is a bit strange… A creature wearing a bunch of potato sacks that gives birth to an adult covered in white slime and several hay monsters surrounding the two? “Oceania” is visually entertaining and Spike Jonze’s “Triumph of the Heart” is a ton of fun (it doesn’t get any better than Björk dressed like Deb from Napolean Dynamite dancing with a life-sized cat). My favorite is “Who Is It?” where Björk is wearing a dress shaped like a bell made of bells.

‘Twas a great but exhausting night.

Thank God we have Friday and Monday off. I’m looking forward to celebrating Christmas with the family and ringing in the New Year with my SoCal pals.

I just know that 2006 will be the best year yet.
