And today’s fortune reads…
I took my aunt out to lunch at a cheap but delicious Chinese restaurant yesterday. My fortune read:
“You are busy but happy.”
OK, so it’s not really a fortune… but the statement is very true. Especially right now.
G.’s out in NYC for work & I’ve booked myself solid every night since he’s been gone. And tonight is the first time I’ve been at home other than to sleep all weekend.
Friday night, I went to hang out on the MadTV set. Normally, I don’t like to attend tapings of TV shows, since the sets are COLD, the tapings are looooooong, and there are no ins and outs, even if you have use the restroom. Sounds glamorous and all, but after attending a taping of Frasier a few years back, No Thank You. Since my friend Regan works at MadTV, my friends and I were able to hang out backstage. It was much cooler than being in the audience. Too bad I fell asleep in a cast member’s dressing room. No worries, Keegan was really nice. I’m such a loser; I can no longer hang on Friday nights. Since G.’s a big fan of the show, I’m going to take him along next time.
Saturday, I ran errands with my aunt. You know the usual weekend stuff: carwash, post office, grocery shopping, and the oh-so-dreaded Christmas shopping. I was exhausted when I got home, but 15 minutes later, Dattner showed up at my apartment. We stopped by Spanish Kitchen for dinner and drinks (I highly recommend the pineapple mojitos!), and then headed off to Create Fixate to check out my friend Julie’s exhibit.
Today, I woke up early to meet up with my friend MB, who treated me to a much-needed facial at Burke Williams for my birthday (thanks MB!). We went to a yummy brunch place near the 3rd St. Promenade called Jack n’ Jill’s, then did more shopping. I then drove to Northridge to attend a Volunteer Appreciation Event for Windows. I am *finally* home and will soon start preparing for the week.
I am so tired from the weekend’s craziness that I could pass out right now. But I’ve got a long night ahead of me: my place is a wreck, I have 2 loads of laundry to do, and I would like to finish my Christmas cards tonight.
Man, I can’t wait until G. gets back so we can become a boring married couple again. Oh wait, the NBCU holiday party and my birthday celebrations are going on this week. Yikes!
The excitement never ends with me. I guess I have nothing to complain about, lately it’s been nothing but good excitement! Hopefully this “fortune” will last awhile.
